Chamber Announces New Military Affairs Director

 

military affairsHOPKINSVILLE, KY (2/10/12) – A new Director of Military Affairs has been hired by the Christian County Chamber of Commerce. Kensley McLellan will begin her duties on February 20. McLellan holds a Masters Degree and undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee with majors in Marketing and Advertising and Human Resources Management. She is married to Major Scott McLellan who serves with the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Currahees) at Fort Campbell.

Mark Stevens, Chair of the Military Affairs Committee says, “We are so pleased that Kensley has accepted our offer to work at the Chamber and to lead the Military Affairs program of work. With her knowledge of Fort Campbell, enthusiasm, education, and initiative, she was the right choice at the right time for our program of work.”

McLellan also commented as she anticipates her new role, “I am so excited to work at an outstanding organization and to work with such established, respected, and successful volunteers and community leaders. I don’t take lightly this assignment and will work tirelessly to uphold the standard of excellence at the Military Affairs Committee and the Christian County Chamber of Commerce. I look forward to continuing the hard work of recruiting more military families to call Christian County their home while strengthening the relationship between the wonderful communities of Christian County and Fort Campbell.”

Chamber President and CEO Carter Hendricks had this to say about McLellan, “We are excited to welcome our new Military Affairs Director and are confident that she’ll do an excellent job. Given the history of our strong relationship with Fort Campbell, the foundation is in place for taking our military affairs program of work to new heights.”

Hendricks also told SurfKY News why the Director’s position is so important to this community, “This position is the key connector between Fort Campbell’s leadership and our community’s leadership. In addition, it serves as the primary contact for marketing our community to incoming military families. The Chamber views it as a critical position to ensure a strong Fort Campbell and more military families choosing to live in our community.”
