OWENSBORO, KY - Raphael M. Ebelhar, 81, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Rome, KY to the late Michael S. and Antoinette (Weber) Ebelhar.
Raphael was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War (1950-1953). He was an owner and one of the founders of Pasture Belt Farms. Raphael was a dedicated husband and father whose greatest joy was family and love of farming.
He was dedicated to his Catholic Faith, the Blessed Mother and the Rosary. He was a member of the Army of Mary, the Family of the Sons and Daughters of Mary, the Oblate-Patriots and a lifelong member of St. Martins’s Parrish.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary Katherine; two brothers, Edward and Bernard Ebelhar and two sisters, Genfave Elizabeth Ebelhar and Catherine Ebelhar Simmons.
Raphael is survived by his wife of 60 years, Antoinette (Wink) Ebelhar; son, Michael Ebelhar (Becky); daughters, Peggy Grant (Eddie) and Julie Jackson (Jimmy); son, Martin Ebelhar (Helen); 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Jean Sims all of Daviess County.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Fr. Bruno Ruel will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm (with prayers at 7:00 pm) and on Monday from 9:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of mass offerings or donations to the Carmel Home or St. Martin Catholic Church.
