Patricia Shubert Renner

 

OWENSBORO, KY - Patricia Shubert Renner received her crown of glory February 1, 2012. She was born December 8, 1940 in White County, Tennessee, near Cookeville. She is preceded in death by her father, Cecil Shubert.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth Shubert of Cookeville, TN; her husband of 53 years, Reverend Wallace Renner of Owensboro, KY; three children, Mark Renner of Owensboro, Lore' North of Owensboro, and Chris Renner and wife, Laura, of Hendersonville, TN; three grandchildren, Abby and Emma North of Owensboro and Kate Renner of Hendersonville, TN; one aunt, Laurine Shubert and one uncle, Harve Rich both of Cookeville, TN; cousins, Rich and Jeff Shubert of Cookeville, TN, James Rich of Pontiac, MI, Margie Mconnell and Judy May Meadows and a good friend, Carol Robertson.

Patricia was ordained to the Gospel Ministry of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in April 2011, and became pastor of Beulah Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Hartford, Kentucky. She attended Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee and graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College. She is a graduate of a three year Program of Alternate Studies of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a two year Lay Pastor Program from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary of the Presbyterian Church.

She retired as director of the Audubon Area Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and served a four-year term as President of the National Association of RSVP Directors. She received numerous awards and recognitions, met with Congressmen and women and was honored to have met then-first lady Hillary Clinton. She served on the Board of Directors of Bethel University, and served on boards and numerous church related positions.

She loved her family and cherished her grandchildren, loved history, historical novels, traveling and eating at J.D.'s Restaurant and enjoying her many friends and acquaintances. She is a Pearl of Great Price and now shines in God's Kingdom and is with family and friends gone before and waits for the arrival of the rest of us. Glory be to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Amen and Amen.

Services for Patricia will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will be at 12:00 noon on Sunday at Cunningham Cemetery in Cookeville, TN. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
