
PADUCAH, KY (2/1/12) – The PTHS academic team was district runner-up in the District Governor's Cup held on January 28th. The team was also winner of the Hume Sportsmanship Award.
The PTHS Quick Recall team was second. Quick Recall team members include Madison Whelan, Catherine Miller, Andrew Zaninovich, Will Hancock, Jacob Holtgrewe, Marissa Davis, Amber Hussain, Michael Langston, Olivia Carner, Jared Holt, Logan Thieke, Avery Harriman, Alicia Humphrey, and Miles Butler. The Quick Recall team is coached by Chris Wynne.
The PTHS Future Problem Solving team was first. Team members included Savanna Whelan, Caroline Washer, Catherine Miller, Alicia Humphrey, and Lily Burba. The FPS team is coached by Karen Smith.
The following students were in the top five in written assessments:
•Composition: 2nd Alicia Humphrey, 3rd Will Hancock, 4th Marissa Davis
•Math: 4th Alicia Humphrey
•Language Arts: 1st Marissa Davis, 3rd Lily Burba
•Arts & Humanities: 1st Catherine Miller
All of the above will advance to Regional Governors Cup Competition to be held at Murray High School to be held February 14 and 18.
