Ruth Moore Brooks, 87, of Paducah, KY

 

PADUCAH, KY - Ruth Moore Brooks, 87, of Paducah, KY passed away at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, February 01, 2012 at Lourdes Hospital.

She was born in Gilbertsville, KY. Ruth was a graduate of the Murray Teachers College in Murray, KY. She worked at the Oakridge Atomic Energy Plant which was later known as Union Carbide in Oakridge, TN. Ruth transferred in 1954 to the Union Carbide Plant in Paducah, KY. She also was the Bookkeeper for B. T. Brooks and Son Construction Company. Ruth was a educator working in many Pre-School programs in Paducah. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Paducah where she was a member of the Tuesday Morning Ministry. Ruth was a avid Bridge Player and served as a volunteer in the school system as a Aide to assist students in various subjects.

She is survived by her son, James W. Brooks and his wife Lynda of Paducah, KY; daughter, Marianne Campbell; nephew, Doug Moore and wife Wanda of Paducah, KY; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Beverly T. Brooks, one sister and three brothers. Her parents were Will Moore and Stella Jones Moore.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Jamie Broome officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
