Lynn J. Ferguson , 70, a Paducah

 

PADUCAH, KY - Lynn J. Ferguson , 70, a Paducah native passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 10:13 a.m. at Lourdes Hospital.

Lynn was an active member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church where the church choir was his passion. He was a former member of Lone Oak Lion’s Club. Lynn graduated from Lone Oak High School (class of 1959); served 4 years in the US Air Force; then graduated from Draughon’s Business College. In 2003, he retired as a shift supervisor from Arkema Chemical Plant in Calvert City with 18 years of service. Prior to his employment at Arkema, he had worked 19 years at ICRR .

Lynn is survived by his wife, Wanda Brittain Ferguson, whom he married June 20, 1964. In Lynn’s own words, “Wanda and I now live a pretty simple life; we have a good time and enjoy each other’s company - True love after 47 ½ years”. Their two sons also survive: Paul Ferguson of Paducah, KY, and Daren Ferguson and Kim Porter of Louisville, KY. Lynn was born April 25, 1941 to Jewel Ferguson and Mary Elizabeth Sirk Ferguson.

His parents and 1 sister, Mary Ann Schell North, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday February 22, 2012, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Willis Henson, Rev. Mike Williams and Dr. Dan Summerlin officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Lone Oak First Baptist Church Choir, 3601 Lone Oak Road, Paducah, KY 42001
