OWENSBORO, Ky. (10/31/13) – The Panthers are coming off an exciting 51 - 44 victory over Marshall County. After leading 39 – 6 midway through the second quarter, the Marshals put thebackup quarterback in, which started the comeback.
When SurfKY asked Head coach Marcus Kimbrell about last week’s game, Kimbrell said, “We played great offense. On defense we didn’t get any pressure on their quarterback and he threw the ball well. Our defensive line has to get a push so the quarterback doesn’t have all night to throw.”
This week, Ohio County (2 – 7) will make the short trip to Daviess County High School to take on the Panthers (5 – 4). Emotions will run high for two reasons: it’s Senior Night, and this will be the last game for the Ohio County Eagles this year, since they did not make the playoffs.
The Eagles offense is based off the run option, so Daviess County will have to play responsible on defense.
“We have to play better defense, our front seven guys missed a lot of tackles last week,” Coach Kimbrell said.
The main key for the Panthers this week against Ohio County is to play together. The Defense has to play a full game, also the Panthers offense must continue to score at a high pace.
The game kicks off at 7 p.m. and will take play at Daviess County High School.
