OWENSBORO, Ky, (11/13/13) – Last week, Owensboro Catholic cruised past the struggling Crittenden County Rockets. The Aces jumped out early and controlled both the offense and defense sides of the ball. Catholic nearly held onto the shutout until the Rockets scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter. The final score was 50 – 7.
This week, Owensboro Catholic (9-2) will face the familiar Murray Tigers (7-4) who defeated Butler County last week. The Tigers have had Owensboro Catholic’s number the last couple years, including last year when Murray ended the Aces season in double overtime.
When asked what the keys to game were Head Football Coach John Edge said, “We cannot turn the ball over. We have to get them off the field. We cannot let them sustain drives.”
The Aces will have their hands full trying to stop the Tiger’s wishbone style offense. Since the wishbone is a traditional run style offense, Catholic will have to be the more physical team if they are going control the line of scrimmage.
Murray High School will make the trip to Owensboro to take on the Aces. The game will kick off at 7.
