Trojans Track 300WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (4/15/13) - Webster County track teams both finished in fourth place Saturday at the annual Region 1, Class AA Track and Field Championships at Paducah Tilghman High School.

Iszack Whitsell and Raven Baxter captured double victories to lead the way. Whitsell dominated in his distance specialties, the 1600 and 3200 meter runs while Baxter topped the field in the both the 100 and 200 meter sprints. She entered the meet top-ranked in the 100 meter but only third in the 200. But her 27.05 clocking in the race surprised the field as she held off two runners at the finish line.

Darrian McNary provided WCHS with its other first-place finish, winning the long jump with a leap of 15’-5”.

The Trojans received a second-place finished from Keenan Hall in the 800 meter and the 4x800 relay squad (Robert Daughtery, Keenan Hall, Iszack Whitsell, Trevor Cole).

All of these WCHS athletes will travel to the 2013 KHSAA Class AA State Championships Friday afternoon at the University of Louisville’s Owsley Frazier Cardinal Park. Paducah Tilghman swept both sides of the Regional, capturing the team titles on both girls and boys sides.
