UK womens basketball 300LEXINGTON, Ky. (3/25/14) — The No. 10/11 University of Kentucky women's basketball team defeated Syracuse Monday night, 64-59, to advance to its third straight NCAA Tournament Regional Semifinals and will now face off with No. 2 seed and No. 5/6 Baylor Saturday, March 29 in Purcell Pavilion in South Bend, Ind.

Game time is noon on ESPN.

All session tickets are $40 for adults and $25 for youth. All session tickets are good for all three games. Individual session tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for youth and $10 for groups of 20 or more people. One ticket is good for both regional semifinal games. All session club seats, which offers three meals for two days, are $75. Saturday only club seats (two meals, cash bar) are $65, while Monday only is $40 (one meal, cash bar).

This marks UK's fifth overall trip to the Sweet 16, including third consecutive and fourth in the last five years. The Wildcats are now 16-10 all-time in the Big Dance.

UK and Baylor met earlier this season in one of the most epic basketball games in collegiate women’s basketball history.

Playing in a double-header with the UK men’s team in the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the Wildcats defeated the Lady Bears in a four overtime thriller, 133-130. The 263 combined points set a new NCAA record, besting the previous high for a Division I women's game of 252 points in SMU's 127-125 win over TCU, also in four overtimes, Jan. 25, 1997.

The Wildcats also set school records for points (133), free-throws made (49) and free-throws attempted (66). Junior point guard Jennifer O’Neill, Bronx, N.Y., came off the bench to net a school-record 43 points on 14-of-31 shooting, netting 33 in the second half and overtime periods. Sophomore point guard Janee Thompson, Chicago, added a career-high 20 points, while senior forward DeNesha Stallworth, Richmond, Calif., charted 16 points, nine rebounds and a game-high four steals. Senior guard Kastine Evans, Salem, Conn., and junior guard Bria Goss, Indianapolis, scored 14 and 13 points, respectively and senior forward Samarie Walker, West Carrollton, Ohio, grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds in the game.
