Yonts’ District Receives $18,000 Boost in Education and Health Funds

yonts c 300FRANKFORT, KY (2/16/12) - Educational and mental health programs in Kentucky’s 15th House District were awarded over $18,000 in additional assistance from a state legislative committee today, with more than half of the funds going to local schools due to an increase in enrollment, according to State Rep. Brent Yonts.
 
Out of $18,131 in increased aid awarded by the Government Contract Review Committee, Yonts said $10,631 will go toward career and technical education programs in Muhlenberg County while $7,500 will be used to implement an early intervention system for mental health services.
 
“This is a big boost for some of our district’s most valued and requested services,” said Yonts, a longtime member of the committee. “As a community grows, so does its needs. I am happy that the committee was able to award these funds for our growing district.”
 
Rep. Brent Yonts, D-Greenville, represents all of Muhlenberg County and portions of Hopkins and Christian counties in the Kentucky House of Representatives.
