PROVIDENCE, KY (2/1/12) – Providence city officials begin their search this week for a council member to replace Tom Glover, who submitted his resignation to Providence Mayor Eddie Gooch in mid-January.
In a letter dated Jan. 18, Glover said his decision to resign was “due to personal and business conflicts.”
“It is with much regret as I have enjoyed my time serving as a council person,” Glover said in the statement. “I wish the council and the city much success in the days ahead.”
Glover told The J-E he intends to spend more time with his son, who just returned from Iraq, and with his grandchildren.
The city council is expected to meet in regular session Monday night.
