drug investigation 05 300WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (9/18/17) — Two Madisonville residents face drug trafficking charges following an extensive investigation conducted by Webster County authorities and Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force.

During the investigation, PNTF reported its detectives along with Webster County Jail supervisors set up multiple drug buys with Jesse Blake Gobin, who was previously held in the Webster jail facility. His girlfriend, identified as Jessica Lyn Williams, was also charged in relation to the investigation.

Webster County Sheriff Frankie Springfield and Jailer Terry Elder assisted in the investigation, “allowing contraband and other items (illegal drugs and tobacco) to be brought into the Webster County Detention Center,” PNTF wrote in a press release. No drugs were actually taken into the facility during the investigation.

Detectives reported intercepting a large amount of K-2 synthetic marijuana, tobacco and other items.

Gobin, 28, was charged with trafficking in synthetic drugs, bribery of a public servant and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Williams, 36, was charged with trafficking in synthetic marijuana and first-degree promoting contraband. She was being held in Muhlenberg County Jail at the time of Gobin’s arrest, according to the report.

The task force indicated additional charges and arrests are forthcoming in the ongoing investigation.
