Gladys Plemmons, 87 of Providence

PROVIDENCE, KY -Gladys Plemmons, 87 of Providence, passed away on Sunday, Jan.15 in Evansville.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1924 in Webster county to George and Mildred Norvell. Gladys graduated from Providence High School in 1942 and worked as an aircraft riveter in Evansville during WW II. She and George Plemmons were married in 1946 and lived in Michigan for a time before returning to Providence. Gladys was a homemaker and worked in the plastic factory and later in the school cafeteria, a job she really enjoyed. She attended the General Baptist Church and later Second Baptist Church in Providence. Gladys enjoyed quilting, reading and doing jig saw puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband Paula and Rodney Guinn of Providence; Two sons, Don and wife Marlene Plemmons of Princeton, IN and Chris and wife Mary Plemmons of Robards; Seven grandchildren, Jarrod Guinn, Dana Harris, Scot, Allison, Katie, Elizabeth and Maddie Plemmons. Three great grandchildren Darien and Danielle Harris and Keegan Guinn and a sister Gay Jones of Providence.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan 18 at 1 PM at Jones & Erdman in Providence with Bros Barry Cullen and Fred Harrison officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

Visitation is from 11 AM to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
