WC logoDIXON, Ky. (1/11/19) — There's still no place like home for the Webster County Lady Trojans. Current 2nd Region frontrunner Webster County dominated another opponent at home on Thursday, defeating Caldwell County 65-30 in the quarterfinals of the Kentucky 2A Championships Section 1 Tournament.

With the win, Webster County improved to 17-2 and advances in the inaugural 2A tournament.

Caldwell County slipped to 7-9 and was eliminated from the 2A tournament with the loss.

Webster County led 27-14 at halftime and quickly extended its lead after the break. The Lady Trojans opened the second half on a 10-0 run. On its way to winning convincingly, Webster County led 49-21 at the conclusion of the third quarter.

Marissa Austin paced Webster County with 13 points. Accompanying Austin in double figures for the Lady Trojans, Alyssa Payne and Raigan Price netted 12 points apiece. 

Bella McConnell led Caldwell County with a team-best seven points.
