WC logoDIXON, Ky. (4/12/19) — In a 6th District battle between two of the state's top high school softball teams on Thursday, Webster County blanked visiting Henderson County 3-0.

Webster County dealt Henderson County its first loss in the 2019 high school softball season.

With the win, Webster County improved to 13-3 overall and 1-0 in the 6th District..

Henderson County dropped to 15-1 overall and 2-0 in the district with the loss.

Webster County standout Karlie Keeney pitched a complete game and earned the win in the circle. Keeney allowed two hits and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero in seven innings.

Henderson County pitcher Madi Stone took the loss. Stone surrendered three runs on three hits over six innings, striking out one and walking one.

Webster County edged Henderson County 3-2 in the hits column and committed only one error.

Jade Jerome went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Webster County in the hits column. Keeney, Gracie Thomas and Kayla Yates drove in one run apiece for the Lady Trojans. 

Henderson County struggled defensively, committing four errors in the setback.
