Ohio County newWHITESVILLE, Ky. (2/12/20) — Ohio County won its fifth straight game on Tuesday night, defeating host Whitesville Trinity 77-51.

Familiar foes, Ohio County and Whitesville Trinity are longtime 3rd Region boys' basketball rivals. 

With the win, Ohio County improved to 21-5.

Whitesville Trinity dropped to 9-18 with the loss. 

Hunter Pharis scored 17 points to lead the Eagles. Accompanying Pharis in double figures in scoring for Ohio County were Shane Frady with 16 points and Tripp Manning and Brandon Davis with 10 points apiece.

Ohio County took control early, outscoring Whitesville Trinity 24-7 in the opening quarter. The Eagles led 40-21 at halftime and doubled up 3rd Region counterpart Whitesville Trinity 24-12 in the third quarter.

Ethan Howard paced Whitesville Trinity with a game-high 18 points. Joining Howard in double figures in scoring for the Raiders, Landon Hall added 10 points.
