muhl mustangs1 300HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (4/11/19) — Muhlenberg County fell short in a bid to claim a victory on the road as host Christian County held on to win 4-3 in a high school baseball game on Tuesday.

With the loss, Muhlenberg County dropped to 4-6.

Christian County improved to 6-4 with the win.

Christian County pitcher Wyatt Stevenson earned the win on the mound. Stevenson worked two and two-thirds innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Muhlenberg County hurler Matt Thompson took the pitching loss. Thompson pitched one-third of an inning, allowing one hit and one run.

The Colonels outhit the Mustangs 7-4 and won despite committing two errors.

Stevenson and Patrick Croney led Christian County at the plate, providing two hits apiece.

Dalton Nunley went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Muhlenberg County in the hits column.
