muhl mustangs1 300CECILIA, Ky. (4/14/19) — Muhlenberg County continued its slide as host Central Hardin pulled away to win 12-2 in five innings in a high school baseball game on Saturday.

With the loss, Muhlenberg County dropped to 4-9.

Central Hardin improved to 11-3 with the win.

Cooper Jones earned the pitching win for the Bruins. Jones allowed two runs on two hits while striking out three over five innings.

Muhlenberg County pitcher Matt Thompson took the loss. Thompson surrendered nine runs on eight hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three.

Central Hardin outhit Muhlenberg County 9-2.

Austin Heideman and Dillon Bland each belted a home run and delivered two hits for Central Hardin in the victory.

Jakob Greene and Dalton Nunley collected one hit apiece for Muhlenberg County in the setback.

The Mustangs struggled defensively, committing six errors.
