McLean County logoCALHOUN, Ky. (4/13/19) — Host McLean County pulled away to win convincingly in its latest outing, leveling visiting Dawson Springs 15-2 in five innings in a high school baseball game on Friday.

Longtime rivals, McLean County and Dawson Springs hail from neighboring regions. 

With the win, McLean County improved to 4-9.

Dawson Springs dropped to 0-9 with the loss.

Jacob Miller smacked a home run and collected three RBIs as McLean County won handily.

Peyton Caraway (2-for-3, three runs, one RBI), AJ Cline ((2-for-2, three runs, one RBI), Justin Capps (three runs) and Tyler Larkin (three RBIs) helped to place the Cougars at the plate. Caraway doubled while another McLean County batter, Colton Johnson, legged out a triple.

McLean County pitcher Grant Lovell earned the win. In five innings, Lovell registered seven strikeouts and allowed only three hits.

Faring well defensively in a winning effort, McLean County committed only one error. 

Dawson Springs committed four errors.
