Madisonville North Hopkins MaroonsMADISONVILLE, Ky. (4/13/19) — Determined Madisonville-North Hopkins managed to win at home on Friday, edging visiting Union County 8-7 in eight innings.

With the win, Madisonville-North Hopkins improved to 7-6.

Union County dropped to 8-6 with the loss.

Jonathon Hogart was the winning pitcher for the Maroons. Hogart surrendered two runs on two hits over two innings, striking out four and walking one. Another pitcher, Blake Reynolds, threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen for the Maroons.

Union County pitcher Riley Jones suffered the loss. Jones worked two and a third innings, allowing two runs on one hit while striking out one and walking zero.

Jacob Joseph started the game on the mound for the Maroons. Joseph tossed two innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out two.

Tristan Manahan started the game on the hill for the Braves. Manahan pitched four innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out four.

Madisonville-North Hopkins edged Union County 9-8 in the hits column. Joseph, Alex Gray and Cole Lawrence paced Madisonville-North Hopkins at the plate, supplying two hits apiece.

Micah Coy and Cade Duncan each collected multiple hits for the Braves. Coy led Union County at the plate, finishing with three hits in four at-bats.
