Madisonville MinersMADISONVILLE, Ky. (6/8/19) — The Madisonville Miners managed to defeat the visiting Muhlenberg County Stallions 10-4 in an Ohio Valley League game on Friday.

With the win, Madisonville improved to 2-3.

Muhlenberg County dropped to 1-4 with the loss.

Justin Hallum took the pitching win for the Miners. Hallum pitched six and a third innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out six. Another pitcher, Zack Toth, threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen for the Miners.

Jordan Gould took the pitching loss for the Stallions. Gould pitched two innings, allowing seven hits and eight runs.

Ben Teel and Jackson Jarvis each homered for the Miners. Teel drove in five runs on three hits. He belted a grand slam in the second inning.

As a team, Madisonville collected 14 hits. Teel, Jacob Council and Sam Boese each recorded multiple hits for the Miners. Council led Madisonville at the plate, providing four hits in five at-bats.
