Madisonville MinersMADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/14/19) — Host Madisonville moved ahead early and never faltered on its way to defeating Fulton 8-1 in an Ohio Valley League game at Elmer Kelley Stadium on Saturday.

Ryan Pierce pitched Madisonville to the victory. Pierce surrendered zero runs on two hits over six innings, striking out three as he claimed the pitching win.

In addition to Pierce putting in work on the mound, Jackson Jarvis and Griffin Lape entered the matchup out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief roles.

Colton Easterwood suffered the pitching loss for the Railroaders. Easterwood pitched five innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out five.

The Miners set the tone early, plating a pair of runs in the bottom half of the first inning. 

Madisonville outhit Fulton 13-4. Ricky Sisto, Shayne Lyons, Sam Boese Ben Teel and Alex Rodriguez led Madisonville with two hits apiece. Both Sisto and Cam Diaz homered for the Miners.

Defensively, Madisonville turned in an error-free performance.

Fulton committed three errors in the setback.
