Maroons logoPRINCETON, Ky. (1/11/20) — Visiting Madisonville-North Hopkins took control early and never faltered on its way to defeating Caldwell County 63-27 in a 7th District girls' basketball game on Friday.

The convincing victory allowed Madisonville-North Hopkins to remain undefeated.

With the win, Madisonville-North Hopkins moved to 16-0 overall and 3-0 in the 7th District.

Caldwell County dropped to 7-6 overall and 2-1 in the district with the loss.

Courtney Peyton scored a game-high 21 points to lead Madisonville-North Hopkins to the district win.

The Lady Maroons set the tone quickly, outscoring Caldwell County 22-4 in the opening quarter. Madisonville-North Hopkins led 38-17 at halftime and outscored Caldwell County 20-2 in the third quarter.

Camryn LaGrange accompanied Peyton in double figures in scoring for Madisonville-North Hopkins, adding 19 points.
