HCHS ColonelsLEITCHFIELD, Ky. (1/6/19) — Henderson County suffered its first loss on the road in the 2018-19 boys' high school basketball season as host Grayson County pulled away to win 51-40 on Saturday.

With the loss, Henderson County dropped to 10-5.

Grayson County improved to 6-10 with the win.

Nolan Shartzer scored a game-high 18 points to lead Grayson County to the victory. Grayson County featured three scorers in double figures as Spencer Sharp posted 14 points and Q'Daryius McHenry netted 11 points.

Grayson County, which notched its third straight win, led at the end of each quarter. The Cougars clung to a 24-23 lead at halftime but outscored Henderson County in each of the last two frames.

Daymian Dixon paced Henderson County with 15 points. Dixon was the only Henderson County player to reach double figures in the scoring column. Following Dixon's leading performance, Edmund Brooks contributed eight points for the Colonels.
