Henderson County LogoBOWLING GREEN, Ky. (5/12/19) — Henderson County claimed two wins in the Best of the West at Buchanon Park on Friday, posting victories over Oldham County and Paul Laurence Dunbar during the late-season high school softball event.

Henderson County 7, Paul Laurence Dunbar 3: Productive Henderson County pulled away to defeat Paul Laurence Dunbar 7-3 in the Best of the West on Friday. 

Kelsie Hill was the winning pitcher for the Lady Colonels. Hill pitched two and a third innings, allowing two runs on one hit.

Madi Stone threw four and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen for the Lady Colonels. Stone recorded the last 14 outs to claim the save.

Paul Laurence Dunbar pitcher Bailey Conley suffered the loss. Conley pitched three innings, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out one and walking one.

Henderson County doubled up Dunbar 10-5 in the hits column. Sophie Margelot and Julianna Hibbs each provided multiple hits for the Lady Colonels. Margelot led Henderson County at the plate, finishing with three hits in five at-bats.

Henderson County 3, Oldham County 2: Determined Henderson County managed to edge Oldham County 3-2 in the Best of the West on Friday.

Kelsie Hill was the winning pitcher for the Lady Colonels. Hill pitched one and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out one and walking one.

Oldham County pitcher Rose suffered the loss. Rose pitched six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and striking out two.

Oldham County lost despite edging the Lady Colonels 9-8 in the hits column.

Hattie Hartman and Kaytlan Kemp led Henderson County with two hits apiece.

Kalee Rose and Allison Vialpando paced Oldham County with two hits each.
