HCHS ColonelsMT. VERNON, Ind. (5/15/19) — Henderson County returned to the win column on Tuesday, knocking off host Mt. Vernon (Ind.) 5-4 in a high school baseball game.

With the win, Henderson County improved to 19-13.

Andrew Mills was the winning pitcher for the Colonels. Mills surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two and a third innings, striking out four and walking one.

Jake Murdach threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen for the Colonels. Murdach recorded the last three outs to earn the save.

Keaton Holmes started the game on the mound for the Colonels. Holmes pitched three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out one and walking one

Mt. Vernon pitcher Tyler Walls took the loss. Walls allowed five runs on 13 hits over seven innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Henderson County outhit Mt. Vernon 13-8. Murdach, Bryce Willett, Colton Evans and Nick Wimber each collected multiple hits for the Colonels. Murdach led Henderson County at the plate, providing three hits in four at-bats.
