Henderson Flash logoHENDERSON, Ky. (6/8/19) — Determined Henderson prevailed on its home field Friday night, edging Paducah 7-6 in an Ohio Valley League game at B.T. Wayne Field.

With the win, Henderson improved to 4-2.

Paducah dropped to 4-2 with the loss.

Jared Hart was the winning pitcher for the Flash. Hart pitched one and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out three and walking one. Another Henderson pitcher, Matthew Craven, threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Paducah pitcher Sawyer Smallwood took the pitching loss. Smallwood allowed one hit and zero runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking one.

Garrett Simpson started the game on the mound for the Flash. Simpson surrendered five runs on six hits over five innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Brady Bibb started the game on the hill for the Chiefs. Bibb pitched five and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out one

Gunner Smith homered for Henderson in the first inning. Henderson outhit Paducah 12-9. Trey Hutchinson, Hayden Judice and Nolan Melton led Henderson at the plate, providing two hits apiece.

Lofton Pigg and Grayson Taylor paced Paducah with two hits apiece.
