henderson flashHENDERSON, Ky. (7/14/19) — Henderson moved ahead early and held on late to defeat visiting Muhlenberg County 9-7 in the opening game of an Ohio Valley League doubleheader at B.T. Wayne Field on Saturday.

Paul Perez earned the pitching win for the Flash. Perez allowed two hits and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one. Working out of a relief role, Jared Hart threw one inning for the Flash. Hart recorded the last three outs to claim the save.

Nick Casey was stuck with the pitching loss for the Stallions. Casey pitched two innings, allowing four hits and four runs.

Henderson edged Muhlenberg County 9-8 in the hits column. Brandon Boxer and Josh Johnston led Henderson with two hits apiece. Another Henderson hitter, Austin Domer, homered in the sixth inning.

Anthony Hennings, Tucker Jordan and Luke Price collected two hits apiece for Muhlenberg County in the setback.
