OWENSBORO, Ky. (10/9/18) — Opening the postseason with a convincing victory, Owensboro Catholic shut out rival Apollo 5-0 in the 9th District Girls' Soccer Tournament on the E-Gals' home floor Tuesday.
With the win, Owensboro Catholic improved to 11-5-1, advanced to the 9th District title match and qualified for the 3rd Region Tournament.
Apollo ended its season 6-12-1 with the loss.
Ashton Logsdon scored two goals and dealt out one assist to lead Owensboro Catholic to the victory.
Accompanying Logsdon in the Owensboro Catholic scoring column, Lily Moore, Kaylee Morris and Isabelle Stanfield netted one goal apiece.
Morris and Emma Eyre contributed one assist apiece as the Lady Aces prevailed.
Goalkeeper Megan Goodwin paced Owensboro Catholic defensively, recording a shutout with three saves.
