Owensboro Catholic logoLOUISVILLE, Ky. (1/6/19) — Owensboro Catholic fell short in a girls' high school basketball game which featured a dozen lead changes as host Sacred Heart held on to win 50-48 on Saturday.

With the loss, Owensboro Catholic dropped to 9-6.

Sacred Heart improved to 8-5 with the win.

The Lady Aces led at the end of each of the first two quarters, taking a 28-23 lead into halftime. But Sacred Heart battled back, outscoring Owensboro Catholic 17-12 in the third quarter.

Kristen Clemons scored a game-high 18 points to lead Sacred Heart to the victory.

Hannah McKay paced Owensboro Catholic with a double-double, scoring 12 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. The Lady Aces shot 39.6 percent (19-of-48) from the field. Owensboro Catholic was 4-of-8 (50 percent) from 3-point range.
