Owensboro Red DevilsOWENSBORO, Ky. (1/12/19) — Winning on the road, Owensboro held on to defeat host University Heights 53-49 in a mid-season girls' high school basketball game on Saturday.

The victory allowed Owensboro to halt a nine-game losing skid. 

With the win, Owensboro improved to 7-9.

University Heights dropped to 9-6 with the loss.

Amaya Curry, a freshman, led Owensboro with a game-high 19 points. Accompanying Curry in double figures for the Lady Devils, Tayonna Greer added 14 points. 

Lily Hendricks paced University Heights with a team-best 12 points. Accompanying Hendricks in double figures for University Heights, Shiyah Forte pushed in 12 points.
