Apollo E GalsMADISONVILLE, Ky. (2/15/19) — Executing well on the road, Apollo pulled away to defeat host Madisonville-North Hopkins 54-41 in a girls' high school basketball game on Thursday night.

With the win, Apollo improved to 17-11.

Madisonville-North Hopkins dropped to 20-7 with the loss.

Addison Carter scored 15 points on five three-point field goals to lead Apollo to the victory.

Amber Dunn, who recorded a double-double, added 14 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and four steals for the E-Gals. Adding a double-double of her own for Apollo, Zoe Floyd tossed in 12 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in the winning effort.

Apollo moved ahead early , outscoring Madisonville-North Hopkins 18-12 in the opening quarter. The E-Gals led 27-18 at halftime and finished strong, outscoring the Lady Maroons 14-8 in the fourth quarter.

Camryn LaGrange paced Madisonville-North Hopkins with a game-high 21 points. LaGrange was the only Madisonville-North Hopkins player to reach double figures in scoring. Narrowly missing double figures for the Lady Maroons, Lindsey Peyton posted nine points.
