apollo eagles logo 2015OWENSBORO, Ky. (4/12/19) — Winning convincingly at home, Apollo pounded visiting 3rd Region rival Grayson County 12-2 in five innings in a high school baseball game at Eagle Field on Thursday.

Apollo improved to 8-5 with the win.

With the loss, Grayson County slipped to 6-7.

The Eagles outhit the Cougars 11-7.

Noah Stewart and Evan Hodskins led Apollo at the plate, providing two hits apiece. Stewart, Jakob Helms and Dan St. Claire drove in two runs apiece for the Eagles. Helms, who scored twice, legged out a triple in Apollo's victory.

Apollo pitcher Tommy Clark recorded seven strikeouts and earned the pitching win.

Grayson County pitcher Mason Miller suffered the loss.

Apollo notched its fifth straight win.
