Owensboro HSBOWLING GREEN, Ky. (4/14/19) — After notching back-to-back wins, Owensboro slipped into the loss column on the road as host Bowling Green prevailed 7-2 in a high school baseball game on Saturday.

With the loss, Owensboro dropped to 8-6.

Bowling Green improved to 11-6 with the win.

Charlie Cummings worked a complete game and was the winning pitcher for the Purples. Cummings allowed three hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out one and walking one.

Ethan Gibson took the loss for the Red Devils. Gibson allowed four hits and four runs over three innings while striking out three.

Bowling Green outhit Owensboro 8-3 and overcame five errors to claim the victory. Geoffrey Ross, Carson Kelley and Evan Spader led Bowling Green with two hits apiece.

Braxton French, Isaac Humphrey and Eric Epperson banged out one hit apiece for Owensboro in the setback.
