Kentucky WesleyanLOUISVILLE, Ky. (5/13/19) — The postseason awards continue to roll in for the Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team as Meredith Daunhauer was honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as a First Team All-Region selection. One of her teammates, Lexie Mullen, was named NFCA Second Team All-Region.

This comes as the second career First Team selection for Daunhauer, who is an Evansville Mater Dei High School graduate. Previously this season, the Panthers' leadoff hitter earned First Team All-Conference honors before ending her career as one of the most decorated players in school history.

This season, the GMAC's all-time leader in hits and stolen bases collected 78 hits in 168 at-bats. Her .464 batting average ranks second in the G-MAC and 14th nationally. Her hit total also ranks second in the conference standings while 78 hits is 12th in the nation.

In her career, Daunhauer has recorded a G-MAC record 330 hits and 135 stolen bases. A Daviess County High School graduate, Daunhauer currently sits second all-time in league history for highest career batting average.

Mullen started 48 games at second base for Wesleyan this season. She finished with a .303 batting average, nine doubles, a triple and a team-leading nine homeruns. Mullen hit 28 career homeruns, a Kentucky Wesleyan school record.

The Panthers' cleanup hitter has driven in a team-best 43 runs this season — a total that ranks second in the Great Midwest Conference. Mullen produced multiple hits in a game 10 times, including four doubles and eight RBIs in a stellar performance against Malone on March 22.

The Panthers finished the 2019 season 22-26 overall with a 13-9 in the G-MAC.
