Owensboro HSOWENSBORO, Ky. (5/14/19) — Owensboro celebrated the 50th anniversary of its 1969 KHSAA baseball state championship team and rolled to a win on Monday, leveling visiting South Spencer (Ind.) 13-1 in six innings.

Dominant Owensboro notched its 10th straight win, improving to 21-8.

Issac Humphrey earned the pitching win for the Red Devils. Humphrey pitched five innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out five.

Another Owensboro pitcher, Andrew Chancellor, threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

South Spencer pitcher Kobe Bartlett suffered the pitching loss. Bartlett worked four innings, allowing seven hits and eight runs while striking out two.

Owensboro amassed a dozen hits. Humphrey, Braxton French, Weston Hayden, Tucker Hagan and Trace Grenier each collected multiple hits for the Red Devils. French went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Owensboro in the hits column.

Aiden Midkiff, Darian Johnson, Ryan Stuteville, Houston Compton and Cole Dawson each connected for one hit to lead South Spencer at the plate.
