Apollo High School EaglesOWENSBORO, Ky. (5/15/19) — Apollo prevailed over a 3rd Region rival at home on Tuesday, defeating visiting McLean County 6-1 in a high school baseball game.

With the win, Apollo improved to 15-14.

McLean County dropped to 9-17 with the loss.

Tommy Clark earned the pitching win for the Eagles. Clark pitched a complete game, allowing one run on four hits while striking out seven and walking one over seven innings.

McLean County hurler Jacob Miller suffered the pitching loss. Miller worked one inning, allowing one run on three hits and walking one.

Apollo connected for nine hits. Clark, Trevor Payne and Max Holder each collected multiple hits for the Eagles. Payne led Apollo at the plate, finishing with three hits in four at-bats.
