Dubois County BombersHUNTINGBURG, Ind. (7/14/19) — Dubois County returned to the win column at home on Saturday, defeating visiting Owensboro 14-4 in eight innings in an Ohio Valley League game at League Stadium.

Reece Kleinhelter claimed the pitching win for the Bombers. Kleinhelter surrendered four runs on six hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Another pitcher, Patrick Queener, threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen for the Bombers.

Grant Smith suffered the pitching loss for the RiverDawgs. Smith surrendered seven runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out two.

Dubois County outhit Owensboro 17-6. Tyler Van Pelt, Benji Brokemond, Zuriel Collins, Chase Hug, Evan Kahre and Austin Duffy each collected multiple hits for the Bombers. Van Pelt went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Dubois County in the hits column. The productive Van Pelt homered in the second inning and drove in four runs.

Josh Bennett led Owensboro offensively, providing two hits in three at-bats.

The RiverDawgs committed five errors in the losing effort.
