NASHVILLE, Tenn. (8/11/19) — Heading into his senior season at Vanderbilt University, Owensboro Catholic High School graduate John Augenstein is among the top collegiate golfers in the nation.
As a junior, Augenstein averaged 70.79 strokes per round, which ranks 12th all-time. Augenstein was named First-Team All-SEC following the 2018-19 season.
A native of Owensboro, Augenstein recorded two top five finishes and five top 10 finishes in his most recent campaign. He posted eight rounds in the 60s during his junior season, including a season-best 66 in the second round of the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational.
Augenstein and his Vanderbilt teammates are slated to open the 2019 season at the Carmel Cup in Pebble Beach, Calif., Aug. 30-Sept. 1.
