Owensboro Catholic logoOWENSBORO, Ky. (10/8/19) — Host Owensboro Catholic won via shutout in the opening round of the 9th District Girls' Soccer Tournament on Monday, blanking Owensboro 7-0.

With the win, Owensboro Catholic improved to 9-7-1 and advanced to the 9th District girls' soccer title game.

Owensboro ended its season 3-12-0 with the loss.

Kaylee Morris scored two goal to lead Owensboro Catholic to the victory.

Lily Moore (one goal, two assists), Whitnee Rice (one goal, one assist), Katie Riney (one goal, one assist), Ella Claire Goetz (one goal), Emma Eyre (one goal) and Kara Morris (one assist) were additional offensive contributors for the Lady Aces.

Owensboro Catholic is slated to face Daviess County in the 9th District girls' soccer match at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
