Daviess County HS logoOWENSBORO, Ky. (10/9/19) — Daviess County thrived in the opening round of the 9th District Boys' Soccer Tournament on Tuesday, blanking visiting Owensboro Catholic 6-0.

With the win, current 3rd Region frontrunner Daviess County improved to 15-2-2 and advances to the 9th District boys' soccer title match.

Owensboro Catholic ended its season 8-9-1 with the loss.

Hunter Clark recorded a hat trick to lead Daviess County to the victory.

However, Daviess County's offensive production wasn't limited to Clark's three goals. 

Jacob Boling, Neh Reh and Tanner Anderson added one goal apiece for the Panthers in the victory.

Boling, Hayden Glover, Hayden Boswell, Carson Thomas and Declan Armistead dished out one assist each for the Panthers.

Goalkeeper Cody Clark paced Daviess County defensively, registering two saves and a shutout.

Daviess County advances to meet rival Owensboro in the 9th District boys' soccer title match at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
