hoptown hoppers 300PADUCAH, Ky. (7/14/19) — Hoptown managed to upend host Paducah 5-3 in an Ohio Valley League game at Brooks Stadium on Saturday.

Drew McGowan claimed the pitching win for the Hoppers. McGowan allowed six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out three. Chandler Kendall and Brennan Crooms entered the game from the bullpen and helped to close out the contest in relief roles. Crooms recorded the last three outs to earn the save.

Hale Sims suffered the pitching loss for the Chiefs. Sims pitched three innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out three.

Hoptown outhit Paducah 10-7. Brant Husser, Cameron Hill and Jacob Jenkins each collected multiple hits for the Hoppers. Husser and Hill led the Hoppers with three hits apiece. Hill drove in two of Hoptown's five runs.

Lofton Pigg and John Michael Russ each recorded multiple hits for the Chiefs. Pigg paced Paducah with three hits in four at-bats.
