fatal collision 1 300ELKTON, Ky. (2/7/19) — A crash claimed the life of a 73-year-old Todd County woman this afternoon after her vehicle struck a bridge and went into a creek.

Kentucky State Police Post 2 reported troopers responded 1:03 p.m. about a mile east of Goshen Road on U.S. 68/80 in Elkton for a report of a fatal collision.

The driver, identified as Helen Miller of Elkton, was driving a 2014 Chevy Impala eastbound on U.S. 68/80, when her vehicle left the road for unknown reasons, crossed the median and traveled into the westbound lanes. The vehicle re-entered the median, struck a bridge abutment and became airborne before entering the creek.

Todd County Coroner’s Office pronounced Miller deceased at the scene, KSP Trooper Rob Austin wrote. Trooper Michael Dennis is investigating the incident.

Todd County Sheriff’s Office, Fairview Fire and Rescue along with Todd County EMS assisted at the scene.
