update general 300KENTUCKY (7/9/19) — The following news briefs are gleaned from sources throughout the region:

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. (7/9/19) — A 50-year-old man was killed when he apparently lost control of his vehicle on I65 in the wee hours of Sunday.

Kentucky State Police Post 3 said Trooper Jarrod Lewis at 12:22 a.m. to the 67 mile marker of I65 north to the report of a collision.

Lewis’s preliminary investigation revealed Anthony Todd Davenport of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Impala, when he left the right shoulder of the road, re-entered the highway crossing all northbound lanes, striking a concrete barrier wall and overturning.

Davenport was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hart County Coroner’s Office.

A passenger, Deshevia Phillips, 50 of Milwaukee was transported to the local hospital for injuries that did not appear life threatening, said police.

KSP was also assisted by Hart County EMS and Hart County Emergency Management.

HICKORY, Ky. (7/9/19) — Kentucky State Police is asking the public to be on the lookout for a Paducah man wanted for second-degree manslaughter.

BashamKSP Post 1 said detectives are searching for 33-year-old Mark Basham, who is also wanted on an indictment warrant for first-degree promoting contraband, trafficking in a controlled substance/meth, first-degree wanton endangerment and being a persistent felony offender.

The charges stem from the death of fellow Graves County inmate Rodney Evans.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (7/9/19) — Kentucky State Police Post 3 in Bowling Green began an investigation into a body found on the southbound shoulder of I65 under the Scottsville Road overpass early Monday morning.

KSP’s preliminary investigation revealed an unidentified man was found with his belongings under the overpass. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Warren County Coroner’s Office. The cause of the man’s death is unknown and an autopsy is being done at the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Detective Mike May is leading the investigation. He was also assisted at the scene by Warren County Sheriff’s Department Medical Center EMS.
