Beshear winsKENTUCKY (11/5/19) — Democrat Andy Beshear has likely unseated Republican Gov. Matt Bevin during a tight General Election race today in the commonwealth.

Beshear would follow in the footsteps of his father, former Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear.

The race was too close to call earlier this evening between the Democrat and the incumbent, while Libertarian John Hicks cleared only 2 percent of the votes.

With 99 percent of precincts reporting in across the state, Beshear collected 709,579 votes, while Bevin had 702,182 after 1.44 million votes were cast.

Republican Daniel Cameron took an early lead in the bid for Kentucky attorney general against Democrat Greg Stumbo, the former Kentucky house speaker and attorney general. Cameron is the first African American to hold the office. Cameron received 58 percent of the votes.

The race was also close between Republican Michael Adams and Democrat Heather French Henry in the race for Secretary of State. Adams will take the victory with 741,210 votes to defeat Henry, who had 681,457 with 99 percent of the votes tallied.

Republican incumbent Allison Ball whipped Democrat Michael Bowman. Ball received 61 percent of the votes, with 99 percent of the votes tallied this evening.

Republican incumbent Ryan Quarles keeps his seat as Commissioner of Agriculture against Democrat Robert Conway and Libertarian candidates Josh Gilpin. Quarles raked in 58 percent of the votes.

Republican Mike Harmon clearly remains Auditor of Public Accounts, defeating Democratic opponent Sheri Donahue and Libertarian Kyle Hugenberg, with 56 percent of the votes.
