thin blue lineCADIZ, KY., — Kenneth E. Butts, age 68, of Cadiz passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.  Mr. Butts had a long history of dedicated public service in Trigg County. He started his career as an EMT with the Trigg County Ambulance Service, where he served for approximately six years. After leaving the ambulance service, he served an additional 36 years as a public servant, working first as a policeman for the Cadiz Police Department, and then as a deputy sheriff for the Trigg County Sheriff's Department. Since 2015, he was employed at the Trigg County Justice Center as a court security officer. Kenneth was a graduate of the Kentucky Sheriff's Academy and had received a Purple Heart from the Kentucky Sheriff's Association for injuries sustained in the line of duty. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Funeral Home located at 138 Main Street in Cadiz where the family will receive friends after 5pm on Friday, March 9, 2018.

The funeral service will be at the Funeral Home at  2pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018 with Hollis Alexander and Randy Clark delivering eulogies. Burial will follow in East End Cemetery in Cadiz with funeral honors rendered by the McCracken County Sheriff's Department Honor Guard.
