Hopkins County Central StormCADIZ, Ky. (1/18/20) — Visiting Hopkins County Central prevailed on Friday night, upending rival Trigg County 72-59 in a boys' high school basketball game.

With the win, Hopkins County Central improved to 3-14.

Trigg County dropped to 8-9 with the loss.

The Storm and Wildcats were tired 18-18 at the conclusion of the opening quarter. Hopkins County Central outscored Trigg County 15-6 in the second quarter to lead 33-24 at halftime.

Hopkins County Central featured four scorers in double figures. Marcus Eaves and John Miller led the Storm offensively, scoring 16 points apiece. Miller recorded a double-double for Hopkins County Central, pulling down 11 rebounds. Accompanying Eaves and Miller in double figures in scoring for the Storm, Blasin Moore posted 15 points while Sam Almon added 12 points.

Khyran Vaughn led Trigg County with a double-double, scoring 19 points and claiming 12 rebounds. Vaughn led all players in scoring and rebounding. Accompanying Vaughn in double figures in scoring for the Wildcats, Jakobe Bridges netted 12 points and Kion Thompson contributed 10 points.
