UPDATE: MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (12/14/17) — After a Greenville Police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation around 1 a.m., a Henderson man with a large cache of drugs fled from police resulting in search that ended around 7 a.m.

GPD Officer B.W. DeArmond attempted the stop on Main Street, Greenville, when they say Christopher L. Williams, 28 of Henderson, fled through downtown Greenville onto Cleaton Cutoff Road.

There, Williams wrecked his vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area. When officers located Williams this morning, he was in possession of 54 grams of what appeared to be methamphetamine, marijuana and a large amount of cash.

A female in the vehicle claimed she was being held against her will, said police.

Williams was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/meth – first degree, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, first-degree fleeing/evading police/motor vehicle, second-degree fleeing/evading police/foot, first-degree wanton endangerment, reckless driving, first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal trespassing, rear license plate not illuminated, operating on a suspended operator’s license, unlawful imprisonment and expire registration plate.

Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office and Central City Police Department assisted GPD.

Muhlenberg 911 posted on Facebook around 4:30 this morning that a possibly armed fugitive was in the area and on the run.

At approximately 8 a.m., Muhlenberg Dispatch indicated the alleged fugitive had been caught.
