PRINCETON, Ky. (12/10/17) — Kentucky State Police Professional Association District 2 held its 21st annual “Shop with a Trooper” (S.W.A.T.) program to help make Christmas merrier for area children.
KSP said the program is designed to provide children with needed items during the Christmas season.
Thirty-seven children, KSP troopers along with their families, dispatchers, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers, and Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officers met at the Area 2 Fire and Rescue Training Center in Princeton Thursday.
KSPPA Chapter 2 was able to provide pizza for everyone. Drinks and paper products were donated by the Princeton Walmart store, and Sonic Drive-In of Princeton treated all of the children to ice cream.
After dinner, personnel from Post 2, their families, CVE, and Fish and Wildlife assisted the children with their shopping to select items including coats, pants, shirts, shoes, hats, gloves and toys.
KSP recognized the following for making this year’s program a success: Charbon Contracting LLC, Sonic Drive-In of Princeton, Tom Toler, the Rogers Family, the Stratton family, Jo Anne Walker, the McClure Family, WalMart of Princeton (Allen Dixon Store Manager), McEnaney Enterprises, Communications Workers of America Local, Crittenden Youth Soccer Association and Area 2 State Fire Rescue.
